The Silk Road

Its Known by beautiful names like Karakoram Highway, National Highway 35, Pak-China Friendship Highway and Silk Road, this road is famous in the world due to its unique features.

This highway starts from Hasan Abdal area of Punjab province of Pakistan, passes through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan area of Khunjarab Pass and reaches Xinjiang region of China.

 
Its length is 1300 km and its height is around 15500 feet at Khunjrab. In China, it is known as the 314 Highway.

 
It is also called the eighth wonder of the world due to its length and height above the sea level, built in the most difficult conditions.

This road is a living example of Pakistan-China friendship and a guarantee of development and prosperity of the region. It is one of the most favorite places for tourists from all over the world, especially from Pakistan and China.

There is also an ATM machine at the highest point in the world at Khunjarab Pass. Weather wise, Khunjarab Pass is cold and covered with snow all year round. If luck is good, the weather may be clear for some days in June and July.
