This lake is 12000 feet above from the sea level. The distance of the lake from Islamabad is about 230 km, making it accessible to a memorable trip. You can go to Ratti Gali lake by Islamabad to Muzaffarabad and through Neelum valley to Dowarian. It takes about 5 to 6 hours. This all journey is possible either by jeep or your local car. But next journey from Dowarian to Ratti Gali Base camp is really dangerous. You have to book a jeep for you. This is almost a three hours jumping ride.

Dangerous Path:

You should visit this lake if you are really an adventurous person. You can’t see the natural beauty without taking risk. The path from Dowarian to Base camp is about 18km long. The dangerous journey starts after about 2 km. Deep valleys run along with the thin track. This will increase your fear level step by step. But on the way, there are many beautiful spots including waterfalls and rivers which run through the big stones. The sound of falling water gives you the inner peace. This all scenes captivates you around them. On the dangerous way, the lush green environment around makes you feel wonder. So bring warm jackets, shoes and hiking sticks with you. You can enjoy meal there and stay a night by paying charges (about 3 to 4 thousands). The lake is about 1 to 2 km up from the base area.
