Makran Coastal Highway

Introduction of Makran Coastal Highway:

In all over the world, most of the people travel by land and roads are made to reach the people on their destinations. And Coastal Highways are the roads running along the sea. Now we are discussing the National Coastal Highway of Pakistan named as Makran Coastal Highway or Karachi Gwadar Coastal Highway. It is because, it links Karachi and Gwadar and in other words, it links Sindh and Balochistan.

Importance of Makran Coastal Highway:

If you travel on this highway, you will find deserts, plains, forests and mountains on both sides. The construction of Makran Highway was necessary for the development of Gwadar Port. It played important role to get mineral resources. Also it has become a major factor in Pak China economic projects. Government has improved means of communication and transportation in Gwadar.

Makran Coastal Highway Route:    

If you love to travel and you are an adventurous person, it would prove to be a very memorable journey for you. Makran Coastal Highway is the most beautiful road which runs along Arabian Sea. It is about 653 km long road. The route includes cities like Winder, Hub, Ormara, Pasni. In old days people took 2 days to travel but due to this highway the duration has decreased to 9 hours.

Picnic Points at Makran Coastal Highway:    

There are many points for tourist attraction like mud volcano, Kund Malir Beach, Buzi top, Princess of hope, Hingol National Park. There is a bypass to cross Hub. If you travel by Winder city, Gidani ship breaking yard comes.The sea here is clearer than Karachi’s sea. There are many wonderful picnic spots. There is also a lake nearby named Sonmiani Beach. But this area is owned by army so if you want to spend time there, you would have to get permission from them.

Winder:   

First Baloch city after Hub is Winder. You find last company operated fuel pumps there. After it you will find Iranian petrol till Gwadar. Roads get better after Winder city. Traffic lessens and speed becomes 100 to 120 km per hour easily. There are sandy plains on both sides of the road. And there is no mobile network there except ufone .

Zero Point:  

Zero Point comes after 10 minutes from Winder. There is present a big logo of Pak Coastguards. Nearby a road leading to Quetta via Khuzdar, Mastung. There is a lot of adventure on this highway. Wide roads and tea hotels are present on sideways for refreshment. Suddenly, traffic disappears after zero point. There comes wilderness everywhere.

Sideways:

After every 10 to 15 km, there are check point of Levies, coastguards, Army and Navy. There is no more petrol pump there and Iranian petrol is found on small shops. Also there is no tyre shop. At 90km away from zero point, there is a board having road on its left side. There is a small office also. This road leads to Sapat (10 km), mud volcano(4 km), Buji Koh(20 km), Aghore(36 km).

Mud Volcano:   

Chundracup mud volcano is a volcano splitting mud. It is also very dangerous. And Hindus go there for pilgrims. It is mainly a combination of 2 volcanoes named as Chundracup 1 and Chundracup 2. Each volcano is 300m long.

Kund Malir Beach:  

Kund Malir Beach is 45km away from mud volcano. The view from top is really wonderful. You can also spend night there on resorts. It is the most beautiful part of coastal highway. Kund Malir Beach is about 240km from Karachi. The sight is worth visiting. The structure and design of this beach is really awesome.

Golden Beach:   

Then after comes, Golden Beach nearby which is more beautiful than Kund Malir Beach. Its water is clean having clear blue and green colour which has greatest tourist attraction.

Princess of Hope: 

If we move forward there comes Princess of Hope at yhe distance of 10 mints from Kund Malir. There are benches, dust bin and washrooms for visitors. Hollywood actress, Angelina jolie visted Pakistan and called the mountain as Princess of hope. This is really a true wonderland having secrets for thousands of years in itself.

Beautiful Landscape of Makran Coastal Highway: 

 You will never find such an amazing landscape elsewhere. And your heart will say that Allah is the Greatest Artist. You will get fascinated by the marvelous sights of nature. The zigzag combination of beach and mountains made us admire Nature. There also come The Shpinx mountain there which is another wonderful art of nature. Hingol National park comes on the way which is a cluster of 10 mud volcanoes.

Road started ascending after Princess of Hope and the surroundings started looking unbelievable. The sight widens at Buzi Top. This is the masterpiece of nature and is actually a geological wonderland. Arabian sea is visible in a distance and road surpassed across the eroded land. Greenery has vanished after the Buzi top. There is wilderness and barren mountains everywhere. It has specific attraction. These magnificent views fascinate the travelers and made them capture in their cameras.

There is specific cutting of mountains which is visible from there. You will find Multani Soil Mountains till Ormara now, and it is used in cosmetics and industrial products. There is plain area nearing Ormara. Mountains are really beautiful there. Also there is a bypass, on the left side of which is Ormara and on the right side is Gwadar. Gwadar is about 240km from Ormara. There is only Pasni in between where mobile network is available for a short while.

It is a unique journey. There we can find Multani Soil Mountains. You can see sand dunes and refresh yourself through this adventurous journey on coastal Highway of Makran.
